"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms toward perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Into that heaven of freedom it should be our intent. Fractal Art

Fractal Art is a specialized form of Digital Art and has been around for approximately 15 years. It is a genre concerned with fractals-shapes or sets characterized by self similarity (small portions of the image resemble the overall shape) and an infinite amount of detail. Fractals are created on a computer, using an iterative ( repetitive algorithm) numerical process. The word 'fractal' was coined by Benoit B. Mandelbrot. Generating fractals can be an artistic endeavor, a mathematical pursuit, or just a soothing diversion. Today there are many pieces of software that can produce astonishing Fractal Art. Knowledge of Mathematics is not essential to use these programs.
I have used several Fractal generating software- namely Fractint, FracXtreme, Grafvision, TieraZon and UltraFractals to produce Fractal Art. The one above depicting GANESHA is done by me using UltraFractal program.
The main point of any discussion is β€œIs Fractal Art really ART?”. My answer is β€œYES. Most definitely yes. β€œ. To know more about this subject I strongly suggest you go to http://www.fractalus.com/fractal-art-faq/
